Clear Wood Varnish 5L

Description

Clear wood varnish 5L is the Clear 5L variant of Colortone Wood Varnish, a solvent-based gloss coating for interior and exterior timber. Its lead-free formula provides UV protection and creates a glossy protective finish on prepared wooden surfaces. Colortone lists furniture, ceilings, doors, skirtings and windows among its normal applications.

Application guide

First, remove existing coatings by sanding or with a suitable paint stripper. Wash away dust, dirt and oil, and allow the timber to dry. Stir the varnish thoroughly. Apply the first coat by brush after diluting it with 10% mineral turpentine. Next, apply two undiluted coats. Light sanding between coats can improve the finish. Finally, clean brushes or rollers with mineral turpentine.

Safety and practical notes

The solvent-based varnish is flammable. Meanwhile, keep it away from children and store it in a cool, dry area. Additionally, wear suitable protective equipment during preparation and application, and take care to avoid skin or eye contact. Drying time and coverage vary with conditions and timber type.
