Receipt of Goods
Upon receipt of the product you purchased from us, please inspect the item prior to the delivery agent leaving your premises. This gives you a first inspection to confirm that the item is received in good order.
Returned Goods
Sometimes you make a mistake and we acknowledge that a change of heart influences a buying decision. In these instances you have seven [7] calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be:
- unused.
- in the same condition that you received it.
- your item must be in the original packaging, and
- you must provide the receipt or proof of purchase.
Unfortunately, there are items which we will not refund:
- if the purchase was especially arranged for you,
- if the item is the last in the range of a range which will not be replaced, we reserve the right not to refund you for the purchase.
- if the item is a downloadable product item.
Shipping Goods for Return
Goods need to be returned to DIY Hardware – The Do It Yourself Shop to be considered a Return. You are responsible for the shipping of the item and the costs related to the Shipping.
Defective Products
As we want to avoid a negative shopping experience if you receive a product, uninspected, and then note a product defect during inspection or use please do the following:
- Please stop using the item immediately.
- Please send us an email at queries@doityourselfshop.co.za and identify yourself, the order number and invoice details and describe the issue with your product.
- Please arrange the product return to our Shop.
- Please send us the tracking number or reference of the shipping.
Notification of defective items must be received by us within seven (7) days of receipt of the product by you.
Defects and product warranty:
- All our goods carry a manufacturer’s warranty of at least 12 (twelve) months from date of sale or date of delivery against defects.
- If the goods show a defect during the first 12 (twelve) months after you purchased the goods or the goods were delivered to you, we will repair or replace the goods. If you opt for a refund, we will refund you the price you paid for the goods.
- If the manufacturer’s warranty of the product you purchased extends beyond 12 (twelve) months, we will repair or replace the goods at our discretion (if the defect occurs after the first 12 (twelve) months but still within the manufacturer’s warranty period ).
- We are also able to repair products outside of the warranty period. If this is something which you need, you will bear the costs and we can facilitate the process.
- If the defect in the goods was caused by consumer abuse, wear and tear or your negligence, the warranty will no longer apply and you will not be able to return the goods to us.
- You will also not be able to return the goods to us if you did not follow the instructions of use or guidelines in any other printed material that we provided to you in connection with the goods or if you used the goods for a purpose other than what it was intended to be used for.
Refunds
Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item.
If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your original method of payment. You will receive the credit within seven (7) days of the correspondence that your return is approved, depending on your card issuer’s policies.
In the event that the product has a defect and you request a refund, we will refund you the full amount which you paid for the product plus the cost of shipping the returned product.
