SPRAYPAINT MIRROR EFFECT 170G (RUSTOLEUM)
Mirror Effect is a unique coating that is applied to the reverse side of glass or acrylic glass to create a reflective mirror like finish. It is great for glass vases, jars, framed glass, table tops, candle holders and more.
To use Rust-Oleum Mirror Effect, first thoroughly clean and dry the reverse side of the glass. Shake the can and apply very thin coats of the spray paint from about 15-30 cm away, allowing one minute of drying time between each coat. Continue applying up to five thin coats until you achieve your desired mirror-like effect. For extra durability, apply a thin coat of Rust-Oleum Matte Clear, or for a darker/more antique look, a thin coat of flat black to the painted side after the mirror effect has dried.
Step 1: Prepare the surface
Clean the glass thoroughly with a glass cleaner or soap and water, then dry it with a microfiber cloth to remove all residue.
For best results, protect the surrounding area with paper and painter’s tape, especially if you are only painting a portion of the glass.
Step 2: Apply the Mirror Effect spray
Shake the can for 1-2 minutes until you hear the mixing ball rattle.
Hold the can 15-30 cm away from the surface and apply very thin coats.
Apply the paint to the reverse side of the glass that you want to be the mirror.
Shake the can often while you spray.
Apply 4-5 thin coats, allowing about one minute of drying time between each coat.
Step 3: Add protection and finish
The painted side will appear dull, but the opposite side will have a reflective finish.
For added protection, apply a thin coat of Rust-Oleum Ultra Cover 2X Matte Clear to the painted side.
For a darker or more antique appearance, apply a thin coat of Rust-Oleum Ultra Cover Flat Black to the painted side.
Allow the final coat to dry completely before moving the object.
