SPRAYPAINT LACQUER WHITE GLOSS 312G (RUSTOLEUM)
To use Rustoleum Lacquer White, prepare the surface by cleaning and sanding it until it is smooth, clean, and dry. Then, shake the can vigorously, hold it 10-16 inches away, and spray in a steady, back-and-forth motion, overlapping each stroke. Apply at least two light coats, allowing for 30 minutes between coats, and clean the nozzle when finished.
1. Preparation
Clean the surface: Wash with soap and water, then dry completely. Remove any rust, loose paint, or contaminants.
Sand the surface: Lightly sand glossy surfaces to degloss them for better adhesion.
Masking: Tape off and mask areas that should not be painted to prevent overspray.
2. Application
Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area or wear a proper respirator.
Shake the can: Shake the can vigorously for at least one minute after you hear the mixing ball start to rattle, and continue to shake every few minutes.
Spray technique:
Hold the can upright, about 10–16 inches from the surface.
Spray in a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke.
Start spraying before the object and continue past the end of the object to avoid runs.
Keep the can moving constantly and hold it at a consistent distance.
Apply multiple coats: Apply at least two to three light coats for best results. A 50% coverage first coat is recommended for better adhesion.
Recoat time: Wait at least 30 minutes between coats. The recoat window can vary, so check the specific product’s instructions.
3. Clean up
Clear the nozzle: After use, turn the can upside down and press the nozzle for 3–5 seconds to spray out the remaining paint in the valve.
Clean the spray tip: If the nozzle clogs, twist and pull it off and rinse it with a solvent like mineral spirits.
Clean wet paint: Use mineral spirits or xylene to clean up any wet paint on tools or hands.
