SPRAYPAINT HI HEAT SILVER 340G (RUSTOLEUM)
Rust-Oleum High Heat Silver is used for painting metal surfaces that are exposed to high temperatures, such as barbecue grills, wood stoves, fire pits, and radiators. It provides a durable, rust-preventive finish that resists fading and chipping, and retains its colour and sheen even after repeated heating. This specific type of paint is also suitable for high-heat automotive parts and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Step 1: Prepare the surface
Thoroughly clean the surface to remove all dirt, grease, oil, and salt.
Remove any loose paint or rust using a wire brush or sandpaper.
If the surface was previously coated, sand it to create a dull, “scarified” profile for better adhesion.
Mask off any parts you don’t want to paint.
Step 2: Apply the paint
Shake the can vigorously for at least one minute, or until you can hear the mixing ball rattling.
Hold the can about 25-40cm away from the surface.
Spray in a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke.
Start and stop spraying past the edge of the object to ensure smooth coverage and prevent drips.
Apply two or more light coats, waiting a few minutes between each coat.
Step 3: Heat cure the paint Allow the final coat to dry for at least one hour before heat curing. Gradually heat the object to at least 232 degrees Celsius for one hour to cure the paint. During the curing process, the paint may emit smoke and a harmless odour, so ensure the area is well-ventilated. Turn off the heat after the curing period is complete.
