Rust-Oleum® Specialty Frosted Glass Spray adds a semi-transparent coating for decoration or privacy. Apply to glass or mirrors. Creates the look of custom etched glass when applied with stencils.

To use Rustoleum Frosted Glass spray, first clean and prepare the surface, then apply multiple light coats of the spray from 25-30cm away using a steady back-and-forth motion. After each coat, wait for the effect to appear (about 10 minutes) before applying the next, and finish by removing stencils or tape once fully dry.

Preparation
Clean the glass: Thoroughly clean the glass with glass cleaner, making sure it is completely dry.
Protect the area: Use a drop cloth to protect the surrounding area from overspray.
Mask edges: Apply painter’s tape around the edges of the glass or any areas you don’t want to frost. Use high-quality tape for clean lines.
Ensure ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, as the product has a strong smell, and wear a respirator mask.
Warm the can (optional): For best results, place the can in warm water for about 10 minutes before you begin.

Application
Shake the can: Vigorously shake the can for at least two minutes before and during use.
Apply light coats: Hold the can 15-30 cm away and spray in a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each pass.
Apply multiple coats: Wait 5-10 minutes for the frosted effect to appear and dry before applying the next coat. The more coats you apply, the more opaque the finish will be.

Finishing
Remove tape: Once the final coat has dried for at least five minutes, carefully remove the painter’s tape.
Wait for full cure: Allow the frosted glass to dry completely according to the can’s instructions, which is often about 5-10 minutes for the effect to fully set.
Clean up: Clear the spray valve by turning the can upside down and pushing the nozzle for about 5 seconds. Clean up any wet paint with xylol or mineral spirits.
Clean the finish: You can clean the dried, frosted surface with a soft cloth and liquid soap and water.
