SPRAYPAINT APPLIANCE BLACK 340G (RUSTOLEUM)
Rust-Oleum® Specialty Appliance Epoxy is an ultra-hard, moisture resistant enamel that is specifically formulated for indoor metal surfaces. It provides a smooth, washable surface for refinishing the exterior of appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, laundry machines and other indoor metal applications (cabinets, tables). Do not use on objects exposed to heat (stovetops, oven interiors, etc).
To use Rust-Oleum appliance spray, first prepare the surface by cleaning it with soap and water, then sanding any glossy areas and masking off what you don’t want to paint. Shake the can well, apply several light, steady, back-and-forth coats from 8-12 inches away, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next. Let the appliance cure for at least 24 hours before use.
1. Prepare the appliance
Clean: Wipe the surface with soap and warm water to remove dirt and residue. Rinse and let it dry completely.
Sand: Lightly sand any glossy surfaces to give the paint something to grip onto.
Mask: Cover any areas you do not want to paint with painter’s tape. If possible, remove handles and paint them separately.
2. Apply the paint
Ventilate: Make sure the area is well-ventilated.
Shake: Shake the can vigorously for at least one minute to ensure the paint is thoroughly mixed.
Maintain distance: Hold the can 15-30 cm away from the surface.
Spray: Use steady, back-and-forth strokes in a straight line. Start spraying before the appliance and stop after you’ve passed the edge to avoid paint build up.
Use light coats: Apply thin, even coats. It’s better to apply two or more light coats than one heavy one.
3. Allow for drying and recoating
Recoat: If you need to apply a second coat, do so within 30 minutes of the first coat, or wait at least 48 hours.
Cure: Let the appliance dry completely for at least 24 hours before moving or using it.
