SPRAYPAINT SELF-ETCH PRIMER 250ML (SPRAYMATE)

SPRAYMATE Self Etch Primer is used to create a durable base coat on bare metal surfaces like aluminium, mild steel, and stainless steel. It etches into the metal to provide superior adhesion and acts as a rust-preventive coating, making it suitable for DIY projects and professional applications on various materials including wood, glass, and some plastics.

Before you start
Clean the surface: Ensure the bare metal is clean and dry.
Masking: Use masking tape to protect any areas you don’t want to be primed.

Application process
Shake the can: Shake the can vigorously for at least a minute to ensure the contents are well-mixed.
Spray technique: Hold the can upright and about 25-40cm from the surface.
Apply in thin coats: Use a steady, back-and-forth motion, overlapping each stroke slightly. Apply 2 to 3 thin coats. The goal is not to completely cover the metal, but to apply a thin layer that etches into the surface.

After application
Allow to dry: Let the primer dry for about 10 minutes before applying a second coat, or a primer sealer if using one.
Wait for top coat: After the final coat of self-etch primer has been applied, wait at least 4 hours before sanding to prepare for a top coat.
