A double throw and latch mortice lock of 50mm back set is used on residential and commercial doors where higher security is needed, such as main entrance doors, garden doors, and balcony doors. It is suitable for both new and retrofit installations on timber or metal doors with a thickness between 32mm and 50mm. The “double throw” adds extra security, and the “50mm” specifies the back set, which is the distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the lock’s spindle hole.
