LEAK SEAL CLEAR 312G (RUSTOLEUM)

Rust-Oleum LeakSeal Clear is a rubberized coating used to seal leaks and cracks on a wide variety of surfaces, including gutters, roofs, flashing, ductwork, PVC, masonry, and concrete. It forms a waterproof barrier that prevents moisture and rust, and the finish is paintable after 24 hours.

To use Rustoleum LeakSeal Clear, first clean and thoroughly dry the surface, then mask any areas you don’t want to coat. Shake the can, perform a test spray, and apply one light coat, followed by at least one heavier coat after 15-30 minutes of drying time. For best results, apply two coats total and allow 24 hours to cure before exposing the surface to water.

Before you begin
Clean the surface: Ensure the area is free of dirt, debris, and moisture. Do not apply to wet surfaces.
Mask the area: Use masking tape to protect any surrounding areas you do not want to be coated.
Test the spray: Perform a test spray on a scrap piece of cardboard to check the spray pattern and get a feel for the can’s distance from the surface.

Application steps
Shake the can: Shake the can vigorously for one minute.
Apply the first coat: Spray a light, even first coat using short, back-and-forth strokes, holding the can 15-40cm away from the surface.
Apply the second coat: After 15-30 minutes, apply a second, heavier coat. You can move the nozzle closer to the surface to build a thicker film. Shake the can frequently during application.
Allow to dry: Let the product dry to the touch (around 20-30 minutes) before applying another coat. Full cure time is 24 hours.

After application
Clean up: Use mineral spirits or xylol to clean up any wet or dry product.
Prevent nozzle clogging: Turn the can upside down after use and spray until the stream is clear. Wipe the spray tip before storing.
