Description

The Festool DF 500 RQ-Plus DOMINO joiner cuts elongated mortises for loose-tenon wood joints. Its rotating and oscillating cutter produces the slot for a matching DOMINO dowel. This 420W mains-powered model suits furniture, frame and panel construction, with controls for mortise depth, height and angle.

DOMINO joiner positioning and adjustment

The integrated stop pins help position repeated joints from a reference edge. You can select a close-fitting mortise for alignment or a wider mortise where assembly needs some sideways movement. This gives you a reference joint while allowing adjustment along the remaining joints.

Five preset depths cover 12, 15, 20, 25 and 28mm. The fence also adjusts between 0° and 90° for square and mitred joints. Choose a cutter and dowel size that suit the workpiece: the machine supports 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10mm cutters, while this package supplies a 5mm cutter.

Preparing timber joints

The machine supports DOMINO dowels from 4 × 20mm to 10 × 50mm. Select the dowels and any additional cutters separately for your joint design. A compatible dust extractor helps remove chips from the mortise during routing; neither the extractor nor its hose is included in this package.
